Turbo4Joe
Hi guys, I need some help! I noticed a slight tire thump on my '05 Legacy GT Wagon/Automatic today while driving home. When I got home I checked the tires and found a BIG bulge on the inside sidewall of my left front OEM RE92 tire..... I'll need to run the space saver spare, but I'm worried about it having an adverse effect on the AWD system due to its different circumference. The owner's manual says to plug in a fuse to deactivate the AWD system EXCEPT on Turbo models. What is the difference in the AWD system vs. non-Turbo models? Will I screw up the AWD system if I use the space saver spare? (I ask, because on my 1985 Mustang GT, you could fry the Traction-Lok differential clutches by running the space saver tire on the rear at highway speeds.) Thanks for your help. 05Limited
Should be fine for the >50 miles and >50mph that the spare is supposed to be used for - time to get some nice new tires!
Turbo4Joe
YEP! I'm looking on TireRack at a set of P225 Yokohama AVID H4S tires. I want to go a little wider than OEM to prevent any more rim scrapes...
