GTkansan
I am talking just about the sweeping metal-like trim panel that goes along the top of the glove box in the revamped current LGT. Anyone know how many pieces would be involved in such a swap? Anyone done it? Is it a direct fit if I start replacing pieces?
Jerboa113
I've thought about this as well.. I guess it depends how it mounts.. chances are its mounted to the panels themselves.. as such you would need the radio stack trim, the sides of the console on either side of the radio, the knee part of the dash on the driver side and the glovebox door on the passenger side as well as the trim itself. You would also need all 4 door panels if you want the small trim on the doors to match.. GTkansan
I need to replace me door panels anyway (scuffed to crap), so that isnt an issue. I thought the center stack was a direct fit (mechanically) and thus I could do without it.
Jerboa113
well, yea, but the trim on either side of the radio flares out in either direction at the top, so you need the plastic trim on either side of the center stack I'd assume. sure wish someone would chime in on this.. I'd like to know more aboot this. "The penalty good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men." - Plato

ama0787
Id also like to buy the 09 speakers. I wonder if it uses a seperate or different amp? Also if it would be compatible with older head units? I can decide about the newer dashes. I think the wood looks better than the older wood but I will always like the brushed aluminum look better
Siper2
You mean the harman-kardon speakers? They use a 380W 7-channel amp in the Legacy, I believe. Yes it's separate. http://www.subaru.com/sub/misc/harmankardon/index.html
whobaru
I know people don't like that fake wood, but I think it the new ones look pretty upscale... fix3d!

Gmoe
I know people don't like that fake wood, but I think it looks pretty upscale... In a low scale sort of way. Either BE wood, or don't. Any amount of fake wood is too much for me.
Soda Popinski
I had initially hated the wood look. But now I love it. It's like a deep red cherry/mahogony look. After driving it for 6 months, I don't even notice it anymore. It doesn't peel, it looks nice against the off-black interior.
GTkansan
I liked the older wood better, but I like the silver more.
whobaru
I settled for GRP instead of SWP because I hated the interior so much and KNEW it would show dirt like crazy. My black/silver interior looks like the day I took delivery.

Jerboa113
you'd think they could have fixed that by now... "The penalty good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men." - Plato
