I think it would be kind of annoying for your average enthusiast, but for the sheep of the US it would be a smash hit. Plus it would get so much free press because of originality it would at least get people into the showrooms. But alas, SOJ would think it would not be useful for SOA or SOC, so we won't see it (pun intended) and SOA/SOC will limp on into the next generation of cars, as the laggard that the dedicated enthusiast has come to expect.
