Dergara Posted August 15, 2008 Share Posted August 15, 2008 Check engine light came on in my sisters 04 Outback H6. She said she was told to put in a bottle of STP gas additive and she did. Immediately the light came on. She also said she only runs cheap gasoline. Now I know why dad says every time he drives it it seems to be hesitating. Yes the gas cap has been checked. Dergara Posted August 18, 2008 Author Share Posted August 18, 2008 Yes, there is a little hesitation on acceleration, but other than that everything seemed OK. I did not notice the hesitation after filling the tank with Premium gas. I got the light to off by turning the key almost to start and holding for ten seconds. After that the light went off. It was a trick I saw a Subaru mechanic use. And then I started to do some investigating. Can you say Jiffy Lube. No criush Washer on drain plug so it dripped oil in my driveway.
