stage 2 1/2?

Recommended Posts

Thanks, the frame, body, motor and transmission are all done. All (all, yeah, jeeze) I need to do is put it back together now. LOTS of parts, and some assembly required.

Have you ever had your car to a drag stip or the dyno? Just curious. I've seen a few Ion Red Lines around. I especially like the new Sky Red Line. That would be a fun car, with the rag top and all.

I am not even trying to put you down or anything but after checking the redline forums, even with tons of mods for example

http://www.redlineforums.com/forums/654181-post8.html

The dude is running 13.994. How in the world can you say that with just a bone stock saturn with an intake can run anywhere near that... which btw a slew of 5mt LGTs can run high 13's STOCK. I mean stock 5eat i would say sure you can go head to head due to the drive train loss but really now.

The guy you raced either does not know how to shift AT ALL. Or it was a stock 5eat that didn't even launch. Also for your information:

http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/roadtests/0405scc_2004_saturn_ion_red_line/index.html

They managed a 0-60 in 7.1 seconds... 1/4 in 15.3 at 94... Are you serious right now... i mean seriously... an intake suddently gave you 0-60 in high 5's? and quarter in mid 14s? Give me a break.

Hold on chocolate bunny

what are you getting after with the redlineforums post?

I never said anything about how fast my 1/4 mile is, i've never been to a track.

as far as sport compact web, different testers for magazines obviously have different times. Compare someone who tests a car for a day launching to someone who has been driving the car for a year.

Nice, I bet that's been a lot of work.

And neither, most redlines dyno stock around 210-215. I figured what was the point until I start modding. As for the drag strip- my tires are bald as shit. I wanted to but after I realized that I decided to hold out. I have some nitto neogens in the mail I'm excited about.

NC, looks like you had about a 500 pound (roughly) weight advantage on the Subie, plus whatever the difference in occupants was (not sure if you were alone, and was he,or what). Looks like the WHP of both cars is almost identical in stock form.

And yes, the car has been a lot of work. I have over 200 hours into it right now, with an estimated 200 more in assembly. (that's slower work, because you're working around all the shiny parts and such)

Did you race the LGT from a dig, or from a roll? Not sure how you could have beaten him from a dig with your bald-as-shit tires. :)

245-290 whp?

mid typing I had a eureka moment of, oh maybe my car is lighter than a legacy.

Sure enough, 3,000 vs. 3,500 ibs

power to weight ftw!

LGT is closer to 3400lbs. actually. Also those "Stage" definitions regret to mention the amount of torque being put to the wheels. Stage 2 LGT's will but down 270-310wtq. Which should trump yours unless you have some heafty mods. (stock ion redline whp = 200 wtq = 170)

Oh and FWD FTL!

I chose all three because I have an Ion Redline...

I'm not getting a legacy, I just wanted to know about a car I beat the other night. My car has an intake and is otherwise bone stock. After he listed his mods I was wondering about how much power he was pushing and see if I could find him over here.

If your otherwise stock than the LGT driver sucks at driving or wasn't trying.

No street race talk or I'm closing this. Take it to the track.

...but posting their e/t's without trap speeds is worthless in knowing which car is faster.............................on the track.............For instance...my previous car made 242whp (dynojet), and trapped at 101-106mph, depending on conditions and how it was running. Best e/t was 13.8. Yet, with that kinda trap I could keep up with cars....on the track....who ran low 13s. :)

I suppose I'm lazy...but I am on a crusade to get people to stop talking e/t's - didn't mean to jump on ya. :)

Guest LGT-NY
all rolls, but one pretty low in first. He pulled a car length on me during the low first but I was a hood length ahead of him by the end.

On a closed track of course. ;)
