black318i
My ECU was replaced and I was wondering if I can load the ROM from my old ECU to the new one? Is there anything that needs to be done other than just loading it?
Infamous1
Only if is is the same rom, like 200N and 200N. The 05's have a number of different roms.
black318i
So the version has to be the same? The ROM from my new ECU is nwA2WC522N and the old one I think is nwA2WC520N or nwA2WC521N.
Infamous1
If you have an APv2 it doesn't matter anyway.
black318i
I forgot to mention I'm using ROM Raider. I want to start working with what mickeyd2005 posted on the ROM Raider forum.
Infamous1
Well if that is the case use will just need to pull your rom and paste the tables. Mickeyd doesn't provide any rom images, it is just the table in excel format.
black318i
The thing is that the ROM on my new ECU has the WGDC delay and the ROM from my old ECU does not. So I wanted to use the old ROM on the new ECU, but I want to make sure it's compatible. I want to steer clear of fouling anything up *l*

black318i
I tried that, but he told me that he was working on a way to do it through ROM Raider and would keep me posted.
BlackHole
To answer the original question - yes you can use your old image on the new ECU. Or you could copy / paste the old tables into the new ROM. I've run the original 510N version without issues (except the know cruise control fix) even though the new ECU came with 522N. black318i
Thanks for the info. I also have a noob question. How do you copy and past an entire table in ROM Raider? In I tried to highlight and right click and also ctrl+c, ctrl+v and no luck. Am I doing something wrong?

This hold true for loading the older 500N and 510N roms on to the 521N or 522N with no working cruise however I am not positive if loading a 521N on a 522N would fry it or not. I think cobb overlays the 510N rom for all their 05' MT LGT's.

I've never had a problem switching between ROMs as long as they are all the same year & trans. I've had a 510 ROM on a 522 ECU and vice versa. Also to copy table - just use the "copy table" option in RomRaider. Kyle "BlackHole"
