black318i
So I went on tirerack.com and it says that the tires I have weigh 23lbs each. Well I weighed one of my wheels last night and it weighed in at 40.4lbs. Factoring in that most of the tread is gone the rim alone weighs about 18lbs. Does this sound right? Seems kind of light for a factory 17. I don't think my scale is off that much. Anyone else weigh the factory wheel?
Infamous1
Rim actually is closer to 20lbs. I weighed mine on the stock RE92's and they were about 42lbs. They are actually a couple lbs heavier than my 19" Arospeed rev II's on Michelin PS2's.
HansGT
^ thats the close to what I've seen reported. 43lbs. (92's and stock rim) Figure rim is 19.5-20lbs. for wheel and tire is 23lbs. best way to weigh it is to get on the scale with the wheel/tire and then weigh yourself. the diff is the true weight. this should rule out a not so accurate scale. I've got 4 at home....I should weigh one.
