If you look straight at the color, it's shiney silver, but if you view that same spot in different angle, it's like a really dark gray. I had a set of hyperblack ACE rims on my old A4 and they were a little bit lighter/more silverish than those rims on Keefe's car. R-1 Racing GTR-9, they come in Silver, Hyper Silver, Hyper Black, Bronze and Gunmetal Hyperblack is picky when light hits it. It will look soo shiney when clean, but when it starts to get dirty, it starts to get that dull dark look (think of it like tint on your windows, when it's clean and the sun hits it, it looks shiney.. as the window gets dirty and the sky is cloudy, it gets dark looking). Manufacturers will have all sorts of different painting schemes and paint types, so not all gunmetals will have the same tone of gray. I got pulled over there a few years back test-driving a WRX (great gravel roads with little bridges over the creeks). 80 in a 25. The cop was cool (state police) and let me go when he confirmed I had permission from the dealer to drive it.
