jonklein611
New one from Advance, blistering cost of $5. you may have really rusted bolts holding the old one on.... that makes is harder to get off.
99SUS SFD
You don't happen to have a part no. do you?
jonklein611
Maybe? I'll see if the bag is still in the trash, I just told them the gasket I needed and he had a cheapo in stock. ID of around 2.25" and two bolt holes. Not much to it.

jonklein611
Yeah, thats the one, or one that looks like that.
99SUS SFD
Perfect, that's what I thought. Looks like Bosal won't be shipping it until Monday...can't wait for next week! I'm gonna crawl underneath it today and see if I can't loosen up the bolts a bit so it'll be easier when it finally comes. Good 'ol PB Blaster should help if they're too rusty. 99SUS SFD
Holy rusted bolts Batman. There's no way PB Blaster can help me out in this situation. Definitely going to have to go with a sawz-all or something. You can't even tell where the muffler ends and the bolts begin. Crap.
jonklein611
Yeah those get ugly..... torch is now your best friend. also the flange on my mid pipe was a lil shaky, so i have a slight leak, so thats prob getting replaced soon.
99SUS SFD
What's the trick with the torch? I've always been weary of using one on bolts.
jonklein611
Use it to burn out the length of the bolt i guess (got my friend to do mine). I can msg and ask him what he did while he was under there. Could also take it to a shop and you'll be done in like 10 min.
99SUS SFD
Hmmmm. I'm thinking a sawzall is the way to go. We use them all the time to cut cars open and stuff, so it should work on the exhaust. Hopefully I'll have time to do it Sunday.
99SUS SFD
Got the exhaust all installed. I think it's just the right amount of sound for my car. So far I'm happy with it.
jonklein611
Sweet, I had the same thought. It gives a lil burble on startup, then quiets down unless you really stomp on it or downshift. Needless to say, the pipe + short ram intake = chances to annoy the neighbors.
99SUS SFD
Mines still pretty quiet when you stomp on it. The engine has to be under load going uphill for it to make any noise. I haven't been flooring it lately either though...you know, the whole gas mileage thing. I wonder if an intake would make it louder... jonklein611
Nice pics. An intake only gives you noise on acceleration. Car def breathes easier now. glad it worked out for you.
99SUS SFD
Yeah I had a K&N intake on my ZJ but I also had a full cat and back exhaust...all I was missing was aftermarket headers. That definitely sounded good especially under hard acceleration. So far I've noticed my MPG's have gone down...but I've also been doing a lot of steep-hill driving. jonklein611
My MPG's went down because my lead foot got heavier...
jonklein611
Also it's GF aproved, direct quote after seeing before / after pics "Yeah I like the new one much better!" quote after driving on highway: "Wow, I like the sound." :-D
