Best Downpipe on the market? (auto)

I have an auto trans and MR doesn't appear to offer a 5EAT DP.

It is listed in your thread but not on the MR site, Catted or non catted also?

Does going with a catless DP do very much other then save money and make it louder?

tend to stay away from the x02 stuff but thats just me

Good idea. Their CBE rusted sooo bad. As for downpipes, if you go fully catless you'll likely get some stink.

In terms of what is the "best downpipe", unless you plan on going past stage 2, there really isn't a whole lot of differences other then price and materials used in it's construction. My gutted stocker (gutted just the first cat) performed every bit as good as the crucial shorty i had on before hand, and it didn't stink very much because i kept the second cat. The crucial added a little bling and more sound, but the gutted stocker was undetectable by the idiots who did my safety/emissions inspection in Texas.

All this was documented in this thread:

Gut your own DP, get an STI up, and you're good for stage 2.

I am glad to hear that becuase I was wanting stage2 but I don't want it to sound like a VW Vanagon with an exhaust leak.

Can anyone else confirm how well gutting the stocker worked for them? I had some questions regarding the design of the stock "bellmouth", it seams offset a bit and that creates a hot spot in the exhaust.

Badass thread!
