VXCL
so for spec b xenonks guide says 18" 245/40s seem to fit for lgts that size is not listed only 245/35 18 I have an lgt with jdm spec b bilsteins and spec b wheels and tires that have 25.7" diameter and no probs. I want to get 18x8 48mm offset oz ultraleggeras and run goodear f1s 245/40s that are 25.7" diameter. going to be an issue with increased wheel diameter and less offset? anyone with a spec b running an 18x8 with a 245/40 setup? Thanks guys. VXCL
How much clearance did that leave you? Dont have them yet. In a couple days. The oem spec b wheels which are 25.7" diameter fit no problems with my jdm bilstein and prova setup. My 17x7.5" oz supertursimos with winter 225/45s 25.3" diameter fit fine as well. The 18x8 0z ultraleggeras and these eagle f1s are also 25.3" but slightlyty wider. Should fit no probs. I'll let you know. aussie_coyote
My standard tyres are 215/45R18, hence are 652mm (25.7"). I'm more interested in width with that setup because it's almost identical to what I'm looking at running.
VXCL
i know that people are running 245/35s with no probs. I wanted a thicker sidewall as the roads in the nyc area are not always the best. I highly doubt i could have fit anything over a 225 in a 25.7" diam with my suspension setup. I'll know soon and let you know. aussie_coyote
Excellent, thanks. When you say Goodyear F1, do you mean the GS-D3? It has a 9.7" section width and the tyres I want to use have a 9.8" section width. Combine that with the offset difference and I only need an extra 3mm. That's a long way of saying I'll be VERY interested to hear how you go.

Mounted them today and damn the car looks evil now. They sit perfectly flush with the fenders. No need to roll the front fender, but on hard turns I do hear some rubbing on the inner fender liner, but it will wear down. It happened with my spec b setup as well but not as much. I am dropped about 1.25" all round. The rears are def just slightly rubbing the rear fender rubber liner. I think I may get the rear fender rolled. Don't know if ill like the look of just removing the rubber strip. WITHOUT A DROP THEY WOULD FIT ABSOLUTELY FINE. CANT REALLY FIT TOO MUCH MORE TIRE AS THERE IS MINIMAL CLEARANCE TO THE SPRING PERCH ON THE BILSTIENS. I don't know if a reg lgt strut would be able to fit this size since the perch is lower on them. I'll take some pics tomm, but wont be able to post them until i get back on monday most likely. VXCL
Took out the rubber strip and no rubbing, but think i will still get the rear rolled as i dont like seeing the lip on the fender. Its not rolled nice like the front. I'm sure no one would notice but it bothers me. Pics to come. I have to go to a wedding so figure sun or monday. VXCL
Are you running much negative camber? Oh .... and it is Sunday where I am ;-) car is aligned within oem specs by dealer. adding neg camber even a degree or two may have solved the problem also. It was just barely rubbing on the rubber. will take some better pics. rainy over here today. Thanks guys. The larger sizes alotted for the spec b have to do with the stock LGT front strut's lower spring perch. the ones ont he bilstein struts allow for a larger wheel diameter than on the LGT struts. If you arent using the stock struts anymore, then you can run spec b tire sizes and be fine.

VXCL
Looks good, how does it drive? And is there enough space to squeeze a finger between the sidewall and strut? ill take some better pics with measurements. gotta clean the car too. drives great. very planted at speeds. I ended up cruising with a new porsche at 1xx for about 20 mins and it felt like i was going 70. Sticks the the road around turns much better as well. Steering response is slightly less, but the wider tires make up for it in everything else. couldn't be happier unless i had some sti brembos under them. fitment is perfect. VXCL
Fitment pics. Barely enough room to fit my finger inbetween the tire and the front spring perch. Could fit slightly wider at that height, but def would need to roll the rear fender in the rear for sure. Still need to find time to wash my car so i can take some decent pics with the rims on. peace MAYHEM #122/22 STS NNJR SCCA AUTOX4U.COM XENON RETRO GUIDE
aussie_coyote
Great pictures, there's HEAPS of room there! Time to go and get some negative camber and then put some grain on those virgin treads.
Xenonk
heh, it's a good thing you're not running a tire that is 10.3" wide instead of the 9.7" that you have now. Keefe
