Throttlejockey
Does the 08 have an air pump that runs when the car is cold? I got nervous with all the talk of engine knock, but I listened real close this morning while having someone else start the car and it doesn't sound like it's that. It sounds like it's coming from the drivers side of the engine towards the top. I see what looks like there's some sort of pump there.
LGT Dave
Yes, they added the air pump beginning in the '07 cars in place of the cat in the up-pipe. The pump is there to reduce smog emissions when the engine is first started cold.
Throttlejockey
I guess that's what I'm hearing then. Thanks for the info.
