08leggy
I have a torque wrench along with many other needed tools now and wanted to know what the torque was for the bolts holding the SPT front strut tower bar on was? Thanks
NutBucket
Should be something like 60ft-lbs. Just crank it down....but naturally don't go Hercules on it and snap it off:p
Opie
Noooooo....the strut top bolts (where the strut bar mounts) are only torqued to 15 ft/lbs.

NutBucket
Sorry about that. Its hard for me to quantify torque. Just something you get a feeling for. Hell, when I'm lazy i just use the impact gun for everything:p
Opie
An impact gun would break the strut tower bolts clean off!
NutBucket
Only if you really cranked it down. Its hard to be precise with my electric one but my buddy has a nice IR gun that's adjustable. Not much risk there. Course, I've been known to over tighten on at least one occasion. I was reinstalling a cap that holds the exhaust cam on my old Honda motor and nearly snapped the bolt clean off. Luckily it sheared slightly...and backed out without incident. Then, same motor, I snapped one the water pump bolts. That one took a tad more effort to get out. Needless to say, I'm a lot more careful now:p
