HKS CAMP2 system

I bought one of these for my birthday a few weeks back and finally found a spare 20 minutes to get it installed. Here are a few quick pics from the cell phone that suck. For better looking pictures, go to the HKS website and get off my a$$.

6 digital readouts with one analog gauge. Analog gauge has three different color options. You can also adjust the background color behind the entire graphic. I chose black because once you go black...

6 digital readout option all with peak hold in smaller font below the live readings

3 larger digital readout with late 80's digital gauge cluster bar thingy, again all with peak hold. This will likely be my standard layout.

Not pictured, the IR sensor that I stashed inside of the vent to the left of the screen. I thought the directional vanes might block the IR signal from a low angle, but I was incorrect.

Still toying with the idea of adding the add-on fuel/oil pressure sensor and trying my luck with it reading the pressure from my water injection. I believe the HKS sensor is rated for 150psi and the WI system should reach 200psi easily.

is it difficult to see during the day?

looks sweet!

Its as easy or as difficult as the ability of your screen to compete with daylight. I have no problems seeing it in the day, same with the NAV and audio screens.

What's the refresh on the gauges, as you are using the OBD2 port?

Not sure what the refresh rate is. The analog gauges (boost specifically) still operate more like digital gauges and don't really sweep as smoothly as a true analog gauge would. Obviously due to a refresh rate smaller than infinity.

Yes, there is an OBDII plug and wire harness that connects to the main box I have installed inside the dash.

Just started messing with the warning features last night. I set an upper limit warning on boost and a lower limit threshold on water temp. The display turns red for that value during a warning event which makes it easy to see from the corner of your eye. I don't have the audio turned on because my iPod and NAV info are selected throught the head unit with the CAMP2 system on the screen.

I selected the the CAMP2 system as the audio source this morning to see what the warning sound was like. AWESOME! If you were making your own movie and needed a nuclear alarm buzzer for the scene where the evil doctor's island fortress was self destructing, this is the sound you'd use without question. I'm still laughing as I type this.

damn...so this product is not right for me...I have an aftermarket double din unit in the cubby hole...my headunit has extra auxiliary ports for audio/video, but if I wanna use the camp2, i won't be able to hear any music or use gps...if I could only some how rig the audio output into the iPod input I would do this, and then quickly switch inputs if I hear a warning to see what the issue is...any ideas?
