Long Island Legacy
Lately i've been noticing a decent amount of noise coming from the drive train and I think i have narrowed it down to the flywheel. When driving at low speeds and normal throttle input I get a noise that sounds like a ratchet being turned coming from the tranny. This sound is not that loud but still audible and is similar to the sound you would get when you put a baseball card in your bike when you were a kid. My car has about 21,xxx miles on it and power wise is stock. I dont launch the car and drive it really hard so what do you think this is?

Long Island Legacy
Does a dual mass flywheel make this such noise normally? it occurs with or without the clutch engaged as well.
Deer Killer
It shouldn't, mine does when very cold out.
Long Island Legacy
It shouldn't, mine does when very cold out. can the bolts become loose? I overrevered the car about a year ago. Could that have caused it. It wasn't bad but still it over revered for a split second. Motor it fine thank god but could that have screwed with the flywheel? f1anatic
if you had an aftermarket flywheel it would be normal NVH but you being stock... Go check it out. It may be a heat shield rattle
