AFAIK twin scroll uses e/l headers

I think by application, they have to be EL, which would give you the smoother sound you're looking for.

Don't EL headers simply turn our low displacement 4 bangers into riced out civic sounding cars?

To me, "smooth" is heard on cars like the RS4, but without a V8, ours aren't going to sound like that...

I think that has to do more with the 6" rear melon launchers (with the attendant racket producing plug) that usually accompany said "riced out civic sonding cars"...:lol:

"Smooth" appears to be relatively subjective.

Or a Twin scroll turbo (and accompanying headers/up pipe).

TS=EL

My APS EL headers are used in both single scroll and twin scroll installations, with different up pipe sections being the difference.

My exhaust note is definitely 'smoother' than a stock turbo Subaru. At idle, however, the boxer signature is still present.

Yes of course, that is why I said "accompanying headers and up pipe".

:spin:

Its a fairly different sound that just EL headers and a single scroll up pipe too.

My UL headers changed the note a little to the smoother side, but I've heard the EL's will do much more to smooth it out.
Let's kick this pig!
