ABPillinois Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 I am purchasing some exhaust components this week and got some price quotes from a couple LGT vendors on here. The total cost is around $1,000. Prices shipped to my door were a whopping $333 dollars difference:eek:. I know there are some differences in shipping costs and other factors but I was shocked. So what I'm tring to say is do your research before you do any major purchases."All right, brain, I don't like you and you don't like me - so let's just do this and I'll get back to killing you with beer."
ConnertheCat Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Good advice for anything your order really (car related or not).
ABPillinois Posted February 26, 2008 Author Posted February 26, 2008 I just figured most vendors would give you similar prices."All right, brain, I don't like you and you don't like me - so let's just do this and I'll get back to killing you with beer."
edekba Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 could it because of vendor's different location & cost to ship them that far? Check UPS/FedEX shipping rates, they shouldnt be too far off from each other
GrimmSpeed Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 yep, do your homework and it will definitely save you in the long run. but remember, sometimes its worth the extra bit to go with a company that has great customer service and quick shipping. Justin www.grimmspeed.com
ABPillinois Posted February 26, 2008 Author Posted February 26, 2008 The cheapest rate is from Florida so I really don't understand why they were so different. I would much rather spend a little more for a good quality company but ther are all very reputable and again $333!"All right, brain, I don't like you and you don't like me - so let's just do this and I'll get back to killing you with beer."
GrimmSpeed Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 location in the country typically doesnt matter that much as far as price for shipping. total delivery time may be affected though. you will quickly learn who is gouging you on shipping. Justin www.grimmspeed.com
ABPillinois Posted February 26, 2008 Author Posted February 26, 2008 Just so you know kit includes grimmspeed up pipe;)"All right, brain, I don't like you and you don't like me - so let's just do this and I'll get back to killing you with beer."
GrimmSpeed Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Just so you know kit includes grimmspeed up pipe;) haha sweet! if someone is charging you $50 to ship the up pipe i'd be a bit skeptical if i were you
ABPillinois Posted February 26, 2008 Author Posted February 26, 2008 Its Up, Dp, Mid and Y-pipe so shipping might be substantial."All right, brain, I don't like you and you don't like me - so let's just do this and I'll get back to killing you with beer."
GrimmSpeed Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 yeah..turbobacks arent cheap to ship. each shipping company has different pricing structures setup for size/weight etc....i've done alot of shipping price homework and its amazing how much the variance is between some shippers(fedex, usps, ups, dhl, etc).
