Intake Filter Dimension?

Recommended Posts

my Perrin filter has some tiny holes that bugs me

I need to get a filter that is not made out of foam (such as K&N, AEM,Cobb, Blitz, etc)

I dont know if AEM, Cobb sells filter alone. So I was searching on K&N but couldnt find any information about LGT CAI Filter dimension.

but I found this..

http://knfilters.com/images/universal/unique.gif

so can any of K&N intake users tell me dimension of the filter only?

thanks!

Just measure the filter diameter at the clamp, but you really need to rid of the Perrin SRI all together it is a poorly designed system.

why do you say taht?

The design of the Perrin SRI MAF housing causes the reading (along with the AFR) to resonate up and down and it is inconsistent at the same rpm in different gears. Just search, some vendors have so much trouble with them they will not even offer an OTS map supporting them.

that is weird b/c PDX tuning had no problem tuning my car

and i've seen them tune many STIs with bigger turbos like GT30, GT35, GT37 and etc with Perrin SRI/Big MAF

anyways, what intake do you recommand?

I have a WBR FMIC and I believe AEM and K&N do not fit

Sure it is dyno tunable but ask the tuner if he enjoy doing so. Also PDX works with Perrin alot so doubt thy would say anything bad about it. STi have a different design which will net different results. For instance the K&N for an STI I have been told is pretty bad, but it is perfect for the LGT. PM coming dont want to upset/scare any intake owners. :)

you just have to trim the heat shield. capestylz is using a kn intake with a perrin fmic and just remove the heatshield from the intake. works just fine
