cowtipper
I wanted to tint my car, but I will be moving in 5 months and I won't know where I'm going until March. If I got my car tinted with 35% and I go to a state with laws that having higher VLT (ex. Rhode Island with 70%), can/will they pull me over and give me a ticket? Also, what level of tint would be best to avoid any troubles for the majority of states? 50%? 35%?
hakgwai
if you're going to do 50% then don't bother. i know in MA. if you get pulled over with a tint too dark. they'll give u a fine. but if u go to court and proof to them you removed it (fixed it) they'll let you go
bigb3630123
Don't plan on moving to NY unless you like to be harassed by police with nothing better to do. Lots of people have gotten tickets for 35% on the front windows.
sactojesse
Here's a compendium of state tint laws I found using Google: http://www.tintdude.com/laws.html I had no idea that it's legal to have 70% or lighter tint on the front windows in CA. I always thought that any non-factory tint was illegal on the front windows.
Bdubs
Pretty sure it's illegal for a dealer to sell a car with tinted front windows in CA. That may be in every state though.
harman.khinda
i think they changed the "no front tint law" a while back in CA.
