CTATV Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 hey Subaru has an STi short throw shifter for the 5mt right? If so im thinking of doing one for my 06 Spec.B Anybody have opinions on it?
icrackedcorn Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 yes when i get my very own sts however, it will probably be the kartboy http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3833 obedience to church and state is subjugation to the unjust authority of men
BigBad Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 I like my Kartboy coupled with hardened front and rear bushings. Nice short precise throws. Not to hard to install either.
CTATV Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 does an aftermarket (not subaru) void any warranty stuff. I have the stock one for 8000 more miles and im thinking of going for the 100K bumper to bumper. thats why im doing the SPT catback and only going stg I so i can unmate my AP before dealer work
eldiablo Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 if tranny breaks with aftermarket shifter, you can expect to pay. My VB Garage... Pumping the air back into despair
BigBad Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 If your talking about an aftermarket shifter, its just a mechanical linkage item so its not going to affect or damage anything else that would invoke the warranty. For that matter an aftermarket CBE won't affect your warranty either. I have a greddy SP2. AP stage 1 is nice and easy to unmate for servicing.
CTATV Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 so no warranty issues with any CBE u sure? that would make me lean towards the megan racing CBE
BigBad Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Well lets look at it this way. A CBE aftermarket or OEM system has no electronics, no cats and is not directly affecting any other mechanical or electrical systems in a negative way on the car so how could it void your warranty. It never affected mine while it was still in effect.
CTATV Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 cool. i dont know i just figured they could find a way to make it a problem, affects fuel ratio some BS reason
minimalistic Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Subaru (SPT) sells both an intake and cat-back exhaust for the Legacy. If it was going to have any negative impact on the warranty they wouldn't sell them. So I'd say it's probably safe.
