fressshhh
Is it ok to use just the front gold brembos from a WRX STI with the stock legacy rears? or will this mess up the brake bias? This is an aesthetics thing and gold brembos are cheap, so please no stock vs brembo arguments. TIA
liquidiq
Yea, I think it would be ok. But I don't know if the STi master cylinder is bigger though, that might mess with your pedal feel.
Jaxx
you would need the brakes from an 04 the 05 won't fit
IwannaSportSedan
Did the 05 STi actually go to the bigger 5x114.5 bolt circle or something that has made that compatability difference?

Alternative to stock rear, why not upgrade to Rex 2 pots? Then less worry abt the brake bias... Dun worry abt the master pump. I upgraded to Brembos front and rear still using the stock LGT master pump...with braided hoses and brake master-cylinder stopper the feel is firm and hard! Cheers! Deer Killer
Did the 05 STi actually go to the bigger 5x114.5 bolt circle or something that has made that compatability difference?..and I thought the 04 was already that anyway... I don't see how to rotors are going to fit...
liquidiq
No, 04 STi was 5x100. Only 05s right now have the 5x114.

eavr4
because the mounting points for the r180 rear diff/nuckles are differnt /won't fit Okk...shall not go too technical but here is wat my workshop did 1) Skimmed an alumi-alloy ring pressed into the rear brake rotor. This is to reduce internal diameter for the handbrake mechanism 2) Custom make mounting brackets (sorry dun have the dimentions) bolted+spot-welded to the rear mounting plate (both) this is measured and aligned to mount the rear calipers...and you are dun Aluminium alloy was used to reduce unsprung weight.
