2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Spotted in Full Production Trim

If dodge is smart which they arent, they will only make a SRT8 or better of this car. How about a twin turbo 6.1liter

Actually, if Chrysler is smart (which you are right, they aren't), they will figure out how to sell as many V6's as possible. Look at the Mustang. V6's sell quite well to non-performance oriented people who still want a "sporty" car. Creates cash flow.

Nothing wrong with a good V6 these days. This isn't 1985 anymore. Probably can't make the V6 model your showpiece, as the Musclecar stigma needs the V8, but for sales purposes, nothing wrong at all.

You KNOW there are going to be kits to convert this body into a Hemi 'Cuda, even though Plymouth, as a brand, is now worm-food.

Front end makeover with single round headlights, and D-shaped grilles, rear makeover with three LED horizontal stacked elements out near the fender edges, and a slightly differently scooped hood.

Just like you KNOW there will be El Camino re-badging/re-styling kits for the G8 sport truck thing.

"And you know thisssss, MAN!"

Stock to stock, a MT LGT and a 5.7 Charger are pretty damn close in the quarter. The LGT is faster to 60.

I just was talking to the Chrysler rep. Here is what is carved in stone; The first run will be 'SRT8i'. The "i" will designate only the introduction models. It is a 6.1 with a six speed manual for sure. Later 6.1's will just be dubbed SRT8.

We have three on order, all sold, all are orange. May 10th is the expected delivery date.

i had read that the first year would be 5eat only and the following year would have the 6 speed option.

Yeah, but today, $40K+ is not a poor man's car.:lol::lol:

True but parts matching challengers from late 60s early 70s go for 1/4th of what parts matching Cudas do. I think they should bring the Cuda back in 1 year with the new SRT-10 600hp motor in it, now that would be awesome. The same way that there is talk about GM bringing the Trans Am back 1 year after the new camaro

Vance, me, Coy

Sorry there was so much talk about the General Lee on here I had to post this pic from Carlisle '01 (I believe)...

The flyer said the General Lee appearing with the Dukes! So no Tom Wopat or John Schneider (Luke and Bo) but "Coy" and "Vance", there similar hair colored cousins from the 1982 strike season Tom and John went on strike from contract/royalty disputes. I was like oh well they are techincally Dukes so I got my pic with them and they signed my hat.

I have possibly one better pic of the car but it was wedged in the corner of the first metal shed of Carlisle beside the Dukes museum trailer...

I'm pretty sure the car had a 383 but was definitely original show car...that is all I know of it...

Awesome pic. Coy & Vance were FTMFL, but that is a very cool pic. They definately got the shaft job.

I would think the easiest one to duplicate would be the "Vanishing Point" 70 Challenger.

That is the movie I was refering too, not White lightning.....what a tool I am!

It was a good movie though, he puonded that car to no end. Did you notice at the end it was really a Camaro that blew up when hitting the bulldozer?

Your an idiot, the 300c are you serious, that didnt scare anyone, all companys do this with there cars when testing before production, some even keep black cloths on the cars. GM did the same thing with the new ZR-1 625hp 625trq GM aint scared of shit. It ran an 11 flat with street tires, with drag radials 10 flats are easy with a new pulley on the supercharger 9s are easy.
