harman.khinda
I think the Perrin Equal-Length Headers will add more hp but, I kinda want a trick Rallitek Skid Plate. Will it work? The GrimmSpeed Pnp Package w/ Hi-flow cross-over and coating is about 300 dollars cheaper than the Perrin. Will I lose that oh so sweet boxer rumble with the Perrin Headers? I don't think i could live with that. Can anyone comment on the sound of the Perrin Headers? Are there any other issues I'm overlooking? mod list: Perrin TBE, Perrin Up-pipe, Perrin Drop-In Filter, Wideband 02, Dom Tune. Immediate Plans for: IPT Valvebody, Tranny-Cooler, Rallitek Tranny Bushing. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Infamous1
Perrin's are equal length, you will DEFINATELY lose the rumble. I have heard a couple vehicles with them, think EVO....
mikeyan
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUzfie3jy4k]YouTube - subaru legacy GT wagon[/ame] my car = APS EL headers... probably similiar sound to the Perrin ELs SoCal Duck Hunters Club - Unit
LittleBlueGT
EL headers should fit with the Rallitek undertray. I have non-EL and they fit with a little modification. EL take up less space AFAIK. EL will get you more power too. Full tune of 68HTA, KSTech 73 MAF, Racer X FMIC and ID1000s................by the DataLog Mafia!!! FourMoBro
Perrin EL headers fit fine with Rallitek plate. Although not needed, Rallitek will include extra washers to space it out if you want. The headers in combo with the MR exhaust make my car quiet with no drone.
sirsimon
I'm tempted to go the Perrin EL route. Do those of you have have them wrap 'em, get 'em coated, or leave them "nekkid"? </end threadjack>
Infamous1
Coated or wrapped will void the warranty and will raise the risk of them cracking. However it will help spool up....
Drew888
I'd like to see dyno plots... I'd bet that the better heat retention properties of a ported iron header that is coated inside and out puts it dead even or better than your average header (relative to size of header pipe of course). The Grimmspeed bits on my 2.0l WRX kept the oem look and kept it cool all while flowing nicely. I'll go ported/coated/iron over a header.... IMO.
