GTSPECB STI
Well I have now driven the ugly betty sti. Test drove with City Suby (Vic Park Western Australia) on 24/12. Good 45 minute drive up the freeway and some back streets. I took some pics from under the bonnet and inside and will post up later today. This one is the R Spec with Recaro Seats which are very nice and snug fitting. Could be an issue for some of the larger members here. The ride and handling are def an improvement over the Pig Sti which I had for 18 months. Tranny seems exactly the same as the old one, engine ditto. More headroom than I ever expected. Si Drive equiped but only drove it in S+ mode. Def better looking in the flesh and I expect they will sell plenty in the R spec model. Silver BBS rims come standard on R spec and look great. Bit of rumble but will obviously benefit from aftermarket zorst. Wide wheel base makes a difference in my opinion too. New grill and lip will help the looks heaps. Performance is still there but more subdued in terms of throw you back in your seat experience. I was very pleased in terms of WOT feel in 2-3 gear. Got Wood! If I were in the market for a hatchback then this would be it hands down but after getting out of it and back into my 07 Liberty Tuned By STi I really couldn't say I would want to swap cars but damn fine ride just the same. Dealership says they come in a couple of new silver colours, red for the first time as well. Taking orders now for late Jan 08 off docks and early Feb in your hands. $65-70K for R spec version. http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j60/Aussiedave_2006/MY08%20STI%20Test%20Drive/Image008.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j60/Aussiedave_2006/MY08%20STI%20Test%20Drive/Image000.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j60/Aussiedave_2006/MY08%20STI%20Test%20Drive/Image006.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j60/Aussiedave_2006/MY08%20STI%20Test%20Drive/Image007.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j60/Aussiedave_2006/MY08%20STI%20Test%20Drive/Image010.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j60/Aussiedave_2006/MY08%20STI%20Test%20Drive/Image005.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j60/Aussiedave_2006/MY08%20STI%20Test%20Drive/Image014.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j60/Aussiedave_2006/MY08%20STI%20Test%20Drive/Image017.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j60/Aussiedave_2006/MY08%20STI%20Test%20Drive/Image012.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j60/Aussiedave_2006/MY08%20STI%20Test%20Drive/Image011.jpg

Knight705
^^^ probably cause they know the average male weight in US is too big for the seat..... hahaha just like how the germans have to add cupholders into their US imported cars to fit our big gulps. Carter
What is this thing right here? I always thought that was the "air pump" (i dont know its correct name) that pumped air into the exhaust to heat it up faster, and I thought it was only on Automatic cars? http://cartermarkham.homestead.com/files/Image000.jpg
sirsimon
It is indeed the air pump. I think all 07+ have it.

Silverstar
So do the aussie STIs come with a 2.0 liter? Just trying to figure out why it's not using the "legacy style" intercooler/turbo setup...
GTSPECB STI
In Australia we only get the 2.5 ltr on wrx, sti and Liberty models, been this way since 2005 I believe.

WizzD
08 Sti = one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen. Way to screw up Subaru! It looks like a Mazda CX-7 or something. Too generic. Yuk!
