Andreu
Does anyone know if the antenna cable for an 05 LGT is that same as every other antenna cable? (might be a dumb question)
NSFW
Most antenna wires I've seen have a barrel connector that's about 1/4 inch around and an inch long, but the Subaru doesn't. I swapped my radio twice last week but I'm actually not sure which wire was the antenna... I think it's got a spade connector on it, but I'm not sure - there's another one with an odd connector which might be the antenna. Anyone know for sure? gary_gnu
The standard FM radio antenna connector is called a Motorola connector. It's the 1/4 inch barrel type connector NSFW mentioned. For some reason, SOA decided to come up with a proprietary antenna connector for 2005 and later Legacys. Here's a link to the type of adapter you need: With a female motorola socket: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Metra-Subaru-Compatible-Female-Antenna-Adapter-40SB20/sem/rpsm/oid/131931/catOid/-15744/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do With a male motorola plug: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Metra-Subaru-Compatible-Antenna-Adapter-Cable-40SB10/sem/rpsm/oid/132322/catOid/-13119/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
CombatCQB
has anyone found that the stock antenna doesn't work well with aftermarket stereos? I've noticed weaker signals after converting it to the moto connector. could it be an impedance issue?
