LittleBlueGT
Seems to have excellent handling, bit heavy though, and a little underpowered. Full tune of 68HTA, KSTech 73 MAF, Racer X FMIC and ID1000s................by the DataLog Mafia!!!
chenc544
Wait for the Ralliart version. 260 hp turbo 4, Evo IX AWD system in a 5 doors body. It will also be cheaper than the Evo X.
chenc544
Seems to have excellent handling, bit heavy though, and a little underpowered. +1. But it's kindda weird calling a 300 hp car underpowered.
bigb3630123
Little heavier than the 05 LGT correct its saying around 3500 lbs? It's saying it will have 291 HP but we all know how they exaggerate that number on every car. Still it's hot. Trying to talk the girlfriend into buying one ..... ha

LittleBlueGT
+1. But it's kindda weird calling a 300 hp car underpowered. Yea I know. I have been watching the new EVO, might consider it for my next car. Guess it depends on how the new block takes to the modding. godwhomismike
If I was getting an ~300hp car with 5-speed manual, my first choice would be the 2008 Bullitt Mustang.

It will be a competitor to the WRX but with 260 hp. That's is what Mitsu said anyway. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/24/mitsubishi-lancer-ralliart-to-have-260-hp-engine-evo-ixs-awd/

LittleBlueGT
New block......... The old iron miny mite was pretty bullitproof to 400whp+ We shall soon see about the new one;) Just because it is aluminum does not mean it can't make 400 whp reliably. Unfortunately I think you are right, but we don't really know yet. Full tune of 68HTA, KSTech 73 MAF, Racer X FMIC and ID1000s................by the DataLog Mafia!!! CTlegacy06
specs: http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/jsp/evo/08/index.do?loc=en-us engine code 4b11 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_4B1_engine its one of the world engine variations GEMA: (Hyundai+Mitsu+Chrysler product) I think the same block design that is used in the Sonata and Caliber as well as other 1.8-2.4L new i4s in their lines. "The engine weight has been reduced by 12 kg (26 lb) compared to the 4G63" yet the car is still heavier overall..

The interesting thing about it is that the Hyundai Genesis Coupe is suppose to have a 2.0 turbo version. I'm guessing it's the 4b11 turbo. If that's true, with RWD it could be a very hot thing in the tuner market.

I'm guessing it's the 4b11 turbo. If that's true, with RWD it could be a very hot thing in the tuner market. I'm a former hyundai elantra owner so I looked into the whole GEMA thing and other years when Hyundai and mitsu shared parts. If I recall the first gen elantras and 2nd sonatas had the N/A version of the old evo engine, thus a Turbo swap was very simple and results in a true sleeper (old rusty Hyundai + evo powa) It would be interesting to see the the performance markets of the new Caliber SRT, evo X and genesis or sonata come out with several interchangable parts. Ofcourse however the heads and variable timing systems as well as a ton of other factors are different.
