GT-L
have the combination and its good enough for stage 2 maybe more but im only stage 2. the pedal is not that much harder only thing i had to get used to is that it grabbed lower than stock. Mr. Ed
lots of good reviews on that set up..... there are quite a few posts recently on it as well. everyone seems to be happy with it
mcnamaraz
I'd go with the ACT HD street and the WRX Flywheel. Good combo.
05gtlimited300
^im going the same route. read theres less chatter and very cloce to stock pedal feel
Owentt
Is there a place online to order new WRX Flywheel? Thanks
schwinn
Some shops will sell you that along with the ACT clutch (I'm getting mine (ACT + WRX FW) from MA Performance, but I know FredBeans and I think ImportImage does this too). You can buy them separately too, of course.
SubLo
Well, as an ACT 6-puck and LWFW owner, I can concur with the above recommendations - go for it! However, after all this time, I think that the FW has more to do with chatter then the clutch itself though the 6-puck is a bit more touchy to drive on the street. I have adjusted my street/normal launch style (quick slip between 1500 - 1900rpm). ________________________________________________ '05 BSM OBXT Row-your-own, W.I.P. '06 Shrek B # 64 - The car the wife loved to hate :( Sold...
ink38
I heard that with the lwfw you kinda have touble launching. A few shops told me to stay away from the flywheel
Wangspeed
I have the ACT heavy duty, and it's a very light clutch, IMO. Almost stock like. HOWEVER, it rattles on deceleration. There's a thread going about it. It's not the flywheel. I have a WRX OEM flywheel (which I recommend). Warren
mcnamaraz
I also have the WRX OEM flywheel and really really like the set-up. Almost stock, but sticks much much better.
schwinn
I just want to clarify, since one of the vendors I am working with is having issues understanding the kit I am looking for. This ACT/OEM FW kit consists of: SB5-HDMM ACT clutch kit 2006+ WRX OEM Flywheel (PN 12342AA090 according to Fredbeans: http://www.fredbeansparts.com/servlet/the-1100/ACT-Subaru-Legacy-GT/Detail ) For my 2006 LGT 5MT, is that correct? (Particularly on the FW part number)...?
Wangspeed
That's the exact combo that I am using. Don't be surprised if you get some rattle on decel. Warren
LegacyGTBiggie
I ahve the full ACT setup and love it. There is a good amount of chatter on sow starts and decell. But i love the feel. Really did notice the HUGE drop in weight of the flywheel. Make sure to have a reputable shop do the install and adjust the clutch..... Money well spent. schwinn
Sounds good - thanks for the confirmation. Speaking of the rattle... has anyone tried the TranQuil TSK sleeve to help alleviate the noise? In theory, if that's the source, it might resolve that noise? I'm just wondering if I should consider that, too...
Ridgeracer
Is there a setup out there that is as noise free as the OEM clutch.?? I have about 105K on my stock clutch at stage 3 and I'm seriously considering just getting another stock clutch/flywheel.. mcnamaraz
I would not suggest the LFW, I would just go with the ACT HDC and the WRX flywheel. I have that and it rocks.
Ridgeracer
So no chatter or noise?...i.e. OEM quiet?? "Gimme mines Balboa...Gimme mines".....Clubber Lang - Mr. T
FireB
Since the question is up in the air, is it the Flywheel that's making the sound on Decel or is it the Clutch? I installed ACT LWFL and 6 Puck at the same time so I really don't know which one is making the sound.

I installed ACT LWFL and 6 Puck at the same time so I really don't know which one is making the sound. I have the same exact setup as you and the accompanying issues. I've simply changed my driving style/launch and all is well for the most part. ________________________________________________ '05 BSM OBXT Row-your-own, W.I.P. '06 Shrek B # 64 - The car the wife loved to hate :( Sold...
