JonLGT
Yes, I read the sticky a million times and I still have a question. I found a beautiful set of Advan RGIIs for my legacy at a killer price. The size is 18"x8" with a +40 offset, which leads me to my question... Will it work without sticking past the fenders? I ran 18x8.5s with a +46 with a bit of room to spare, just want to make sure they wont stick out and look rediculous (in a bad way) before I spend the money. I apreciate the help. Yes I read the sticky!
boostsr20
If your running a 225/40/18 you won't have to worry. Anything wider and you'd be pushing it. Is the car lowered? If its lowered the negative camber will help it appear to be inside the well at the top.

boostsr20
Now that I think about it, that might be a tad too much offset. I believe Keefe in teh past had soem 17x8 et 40 that he put some 235/40 rubber on. Maybe he'll chime in but I don't think these are going to be the look you want. 18x8 et40 will move the wheel 1.1 inches out from the car. If you've got stockers you can go measure and see what you think.
EL PAALO
http://wheelspecs.com/OffsetCalculator.aspx the outer edge of the wheel will be at the same point as your previous 8.5 +46, but if you're using a wide tire, like a 245/35 18 then the tire will overhang the wheel somewhat vs the 8.5.
