Guest Gitster
Heres the same illustration for a WRX... dunno where the Legacy illustration is. http://www.scoobytuner.com/graphics/ExhuastDiagram.jpg All the Exhaust Pipes are in Blue from the Turbo back to the mufflers
SubLo
Great, so I am guessing that it is going to cost a whole lot more than the TBE price. No! You guys are making this out to be much more complicated then it really is. Just get a down pipe - any full length DP or combo of shorty+mid, add your CBE and you're all set. It's very simple. ________________________________________________ '05 BSM OBXT Row-your-own, W.I.P. '06 Shrek B # 64 - The car the wife loved to hate :( Sold...
Guest Gitster
Great, so I am guessing that it is going to cost a whole lot more than the TBE price. TBE's are usually the best value since you are packaging the extra 2 pipes in with the CBE. You also know they all fit together so it is a better idea to go TBE to begin with IMO. goneskiian
They are discontinued. I got the last one earlier this year. Don't know why the stopped making them. Mine is a perfect fit and I have had zero problems with it. I thought you had the SPT CBE? Do I have you confused with someone else?
qikslvr
I thought you had the SPT CBE? Do I have you confused with someone else? I have an Autospeed catted DP and a SPT catback. I'm pretty sure I got the last DP in March of this year. Autospeed still makes the CBE but not the DP so you can't buy an Autospeed TBE anymore even though some websites still list them. Let's kick this pig!
05Limited
Well I'll be selling my whole Autospeed TBE soon - so one very lucky person will be able to buy one...

ugadogs_11
I wanted the Cobb TBE, but I haven't heard a exhaust clip of it, so I don't know if I will like it.
ugadogs_11
Where did you guys get your Autospeed?
05Limited
Mine was direct from Autospeed. Dan at FastWRX has the best price as far as I know: http://www.fastwrx.com/aucaandtuex.html Nobody sells the whole turboback anymore though - except for me (you heard me, I'm sellin' the whole thing - I'm going catless baby!) ugadogs_11
What downpipe would you guys reccomend since they do not make the Autospeed downpipe anymore. I was thinking about Cobb, but I keep reading that the fittment is not that great. Also, do I really need to get an up-pipe?
05Limited
The fitment on the cobb is excellent, it's just that it tapers to 2.5" at the catback junction to mate to the stock catback. '05-'06 have cats in the uppipe (pre-turbo) so it's good to get rid of them just for a safety/longevity standpoint. As far as replacing one on an '07+ it isn't necessary, and the performance upgrade would be mild at best.
Scooby2.5
I put the autospeed on an outback with the JDM bumper with the cutouts. this exaust is a pain in the but to put on but once it is on, the sound could not be better. Here is a link to some pics I took during my install. www.webshots.com/user/gregnauman
ugadogs_11
Wow that looks good! I was looking to get a turboback exhaust, but since you can't buy those anymore, I was looking at just buying a downpipe. What brand would you guys recommend? goneskiian
You may want to ask this question in a different thread. Or search. There are so many "What DP?" threads that you can spend the next week reading them all! Yes, I'm exaggerating, but not by much.
ugadogs_11
Alright thanks, I was just wandering what downpipes would be good with the Austospeed.
05Limited
As far as I know, only the Perrin and the Invidia pipes are a full 3" all the way down - I have an invidia pipe, it's very high quality, but the fitment is only ~okay~... I don't know anything about the Perrin...
rallysquirrel
I have an Autospeed catted DP and a SPT catback. I'm pretty sure I got the last DP in March of this year. Autospeed still makes the CBE but not the DP so you can't buy an Autospeed TBE anymore even though some websites still list them. It looks like I ordered the last one on May 11th. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61495
Scooby2.5
Alright thanks, I was just wandering what downpipes would be good with the Austospeed. I went with COBB. I did cut the end of the Cobb DP off though and make it full 3 inch. The cobb tapers to fit stock exhaust.
magnus617
check out the MR downpipes. that's what I'm looking at getting when they come out for the 5eat. full 3" pipe and thick flanges plus the price is what attracted me. all though they don't have any cats in them, so that could be a deal breaker for you never, under any circumstances, take sleeping pills at the same time as a laxative.
