shub
I have an 07 llb wagon and I noticed a whineing sound comming from the engine. I thought it was the alternator so I took it to the dealer. they said everything was ok. I had them start another llb 3.0 and it had the same sound. Can someone tell me if subs are suppose to sound like that.

tdoggydog
Mine has a whining sound most notably when slowly negotiating parking lots, etc. but I've read elsewhere that this is a normal sound for Subies. I kind of like it.

WhatV8
A neighbor down the street has a 3.0R with the whine you mention. I can tell it is him every time he turns the corner by the unique sound. Every 3.0R I have heard has the same sound, must just be something specific with the engine/tranny package. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it starts getting louder.

tdoggydog
Yeah, people know when I'm coming too - never driven a diff Leggy, so I guess it may in fact just be the setup of the 3.0R. Nothing to worry about - mine runs fine and I actually like the sound of it.
