2000 Legacy 2.5GT Spark Plug Change?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I'm trying to change the spark plugs on my cousin's GT Wagon and it's really confusing. Spark plugs on Hondas are so much easier to change! Anyway, the spark plugs are held inside of a black box with the terminals sticking out that connect to the spark plug wires. My question is:

How do you get the spark plugs out of the black box? Everything seems to be glued together and I can't separate any pieces. I RTFM and it said "Changing the spark plugs can be difficult. It is recommended that you bring the car into Subaru for that." I'm guessing that means $$$.

Thanks in advance for your help guys. I searched but the only spark plug DIY I found was for the newer Legacy's.

Uhhhh.... I think your looking at the coil pack.

Follow the wires from the coil pack down to the spark plugs at the side of the engine(two spark plubs on each side and deep inside a spark plug tube). The left hand or passenger side of the car/engine you might need to remove the air snorkel to get at the spark plugs.
