Dataloging parameters

Recommended Posts

I have engiunity and ecuExplorer.

These are the parameters I need to log:

RPM

A/F Ratio

A/F Trim Current

A/F Trim Learned

Relative Pressure

Turbo Dynamics

TPS

WGDC

Dynamic Advance Multiplier

Dynamic Advance

EGT

Ignition Timing

Knock Activity

Calculated Load

I can find most of those in either program,and some of them are not in either logger.

What program has all of those parameters? Is there an update to one of the programs to add parameters?

(Updated 8/22/17)

EcuExplorer is no longer maintained so Enginuity is a much better bet. The Enginuity guys release new definitions fairly often:

http://www.enginuity.org/viewtopic.php?t=360

http://www.enginuity.org/viewtopic.php?t=1642

It's possible the names in the logger definitions changed after the was made, so some of the names won't exactly match the list you're starting from. "Relative Pressure" is "Manifold Relative Pressure," for example (I guess that one's obvious but you get the idea).

Which ones, specifically, can't you find in Enginuity?

Do you want to check your engine's health in general, or are you working with a tuner who has asked for these parameters specifically? If the former, see http://www.enginuity.org/Documentation/EnginuityFAQ#toc64 for another list to consider, which should map very closely to the Enginuity logger's list of parameters.

I am going to assume this is a pro-tuner who wants you to send him logs so that he can tweak your tune by mail? If so, download and install the latest Enginuity logger defs (updated separately from the application) and here's what you need to log:

RPM = Engine Speed

A/F Ratio = Air/Fuel Sensor #1

A/F Trim Current = Air/Fuel Correction #1

A/F Trim Learned = Air/Fuel Learning #1

Relative Pressure = Manifold Relative Pressure (Corrected)

Turbo Dynamics = Turbo Dynamics Integral Cumulative*AND Tubo Dynamics Proportional*

TPS =Throttle Plate Opening Angle (Direct)*

WGDC = Primary Wastegate Duty

Dynamic Advance Multiplier = IAM*

Dynamic Advance = Knock Correction

EGT = Exhaust Gas Temperature

Ignition Timing = SAME

Knock Activity = probably means Knock Signal #1 switch but that is retarded to log. Log Feedback Knock Correction* AND Fine Learning Knock Correction* instead

Calculated Load = Engine Load* (don't log engine load % - units should be g/rev)
