SubLo
Yes, I searched. No, i didn't RTFM . I had a shop install the Cleansweep, amps, subs, et al. Radio, CDs, MP3-CDs all sound great . However, the Aux (MP3 player input) sounds crapstastic , muffled really bad - unbearable really. Any thoughts? I don't really want to go back to those guys. ________________________________________________ '05 BSM OBXT Row-your-own, W.I.P. '06 Shrek B # 64 - The car the wife loved to hate :( Sold...

SubLo
What is plugged into the aux. input? MP3 player (Iriver H40 specifically). Even tried messing with the bass/treble settings and it still sounds terrible - like listening to speakers covered with pillows. ________________________________________________ '05 BSM OBXT Row-your-own, W.I.P. '06 Shrek B # 64 - The car the wife loved to hate :( Sold...
msmith
Can you try a different MP3 player to see if the problem goes away? Are there any EQ circuits in the iRiver player that need to be defeated? Are the level trim controls for the Cleansweep's aux input adjusted properly?
SubLo
Is that MP3 Player loaded up with compressed music? You'll notice the compression more on a good system than with the earbuds buncled with most MP3 players these days... Well yeah! It's MP3!!! Compressed. I rip all my music at 160kb/s, Lame encoder on CDEx. It's the exact same format I'm playing off the OEM HU (sounds spectacular) but off the aux Cleansweep input, sounds like dung. Are the adjustments on the CS seperate for the two inputs? ________________________________________________ '05 BSM OBXT Row-your-own, W.I.P. '06 Shrek B # 64 - The car the wife loved to hate :( Sold...

The OEM input adjusts automatically when the unit is calibrated. The Aux input has a pair of level controls on the top of the Cleansweep unit that need to be adjusted to level match the aux source with the OEM source. It's in the manual.
