gtguy Posted April 7, 2004 Share Posted April 7, 2004 I've been looking around for 225-55-17 tires, in case the Outback jones gets to be too much to withstand, and that is a really odd size. Bridgestone makes it, in the SO-3, but I didn't see it many other places. 215-45-17, on the other hand, is very common. Just something else to consider. A search at Tire Rack.com yields 53 choices in that size, from Dunlop 5000s, to Eagle F1s and SO-3s, even an Yoko AVS intermediate. And for winter, you can get the boss Nokian WR, or RSi. SteVTEC Posted April 7, 2004 Author Share Posted April 7, 2004 I have 215/55R16's on my Maxima. I would say handling is decent and secure, but not truly precise or agile. The crappy rear beam suspension and loose steering don't help either though. 55's are good enough for my purposes, but yeah, for serious handling I'd need 17's and shorter sidewalls.
