Looks like COBB released their catback exhaust

I was reading one of Bigkahuna's threads and he mentioned that Cobb was close to releasing their sedan exhaust and looks like they've finally put them on their website.

$1095 is pretty steep but it looks like a nice piece. I wish they'd offer more pictures. Looks like they have a video posted as well but I can't view it on my work machine. I'll have to check it out when I get home. Has anyone purchased one yet?

Nice... but 1100$ nice?

I am piecing together a system with a resonator, and name-brand mufflers, for half that, including a bit of fabrication for the hangars, etc... and three separate shipping charges.

I know they have to recoup R&D... but, honestly... over a thousand dollars for some bent and welded stainless pipe, some flanges, bolts and gaskets, and a pair of mufflers?

Why should that retail for more than 5-600$??? let alone the 750-1300 that the ready-to-install CBEs seem to cost?

I know cobb makes good stuff, and has to pay the bills, but how many sales are they cutting themselves off of by having such expensive prices?

I can't help but think that they are on the top side of the laffer curve with some of this stuff.

Sorry, I never go into that particular forum (this site has so damn many). Feel free to lock or delete this thread if necessary.

Here's the video clip extracted from Cobb's site (which links to a download for WMP9 but is an MOV file?) Same file that is linked in the other thread.

Internet sounds clips are never usually that good because of the limitations of the recording devices but I have to admit, that does sound good. I agree that $1,100 is steep but it's my experience that you usually get what you pay for. I've welded together universal mufflers for people, I've bought low end catbacks and I've bought high end stuff over the years. Maybe I'm a little biased, but I think the high end stuff tends to sound better and last longer. I've got to put a new set of tires on my car in the spring and then I might consider it but I'd love to see some more pictures and video's first.

You said you don't like the tips. Any particular reason? I never cared for the two tone tips that were on the original SPT/Bosal exhaust but I haven't seen enough pictures of this system to really make a judgement.
