Need4Speed
I tried to get this information form Subaru and here is what transpired: Thank you for visiting the Subaru web site and for your message! I am sorry but we do not provide production numbers for our vehicles. We do not have this information available. We only provide sales numbers for our vehicles, which are available on Subaru.com under 'News' and 'Sales Results'. Sales results are broken down by year, month, and by model line. If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to reply to this email. Sincerely, Samir Hasan Subaru of America, Inc. Customer/Dealer Services Department ----------------------------------------------------------- YOUR ORIGINAL MAIL: To Whom It May Concern: I am interested in obtaining detailed production numbers for 2005 - 2007 Subaru Legacys. I would like to know the breakdown by trim level, color, transmission, and any other criteria you have. I appreciate your help. Thank You Very Much They also suggested this web site http://www.autonews.com/ when I spoke to Subaru on the phone.
DA SUUB
I have been told some "unofficial" production numbers by Subaru of Canada reps, but of course they won't put anything in writing. I wonder what the big secret is?
ZinFreak
Why provide free market research for your competition? I would think anything but raw sales numbers would be a closely guarded set of information. -Zin 06 LGT LTD GRP 5MT 07 FXT LTD OBP 4EAT
Need4Speed
Apparently this information is out there but I think you have to pay for it. http://www.autonews.com They have tons of data and Subaru thought they would be the best source for what I was looking for. gallax
Can you get production numbers from any other manufacturer? I guess there is a level of secrecy as they will point out what the company is expecting to sell in the close future.
Need4Speed
Some people on the forums here have said they spoke to other manufacturers and got production numbers.
issai
Toyota, GM, Ford, DaimlerChrysler, Nissan, etc. frequently publish past production numbers, unexpected variances, and future projections at least annually if not more frequently. If anybody's worried about free market research for the competition, it'd be the players I've just named-- not Subaru.
