nvr-enuf
Background: 2002 Outback Sedan, passenger seat butt and back works, driver seat back works but the heated butt will not work. Yes, this car has a heated back AND BUTT. Please do not tell me that the heated seats gett too hot, I know this already and my wife would like them hotter if she could flip another switch. I have checked the fuse inside the car and it is not blown. Any help in finding the problem would help. Does anyone know the resistance of the heated element for the butt and where to measure it? It could be I have an open circuit therefore infinite resistance. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Scott
c-lo
Hey Scott, search around; this was an issue on an '05 recently. don't know what the outcome was, but it may need a trip to the dealer. 258k miles - Stock engine/minor suspension upgrades/original shocks/rear struts replaced at 222k/4 passenger side wheel bearings/3 clutches/1 radiator/3 turbos
fzanetti
If the butt only is working, or the back only is working, you may have a defective resistance on the seat itself, once it's not a simple cause, like a fuse or etc... Good luck finding your problem, it should be simple and not very costly!!! Flavio Zanetti Boston, MA
direavenger
I just had this issue fixed on my '05 LGT under warranty. It turned out that the heating element burnt out, and they had to replace it. I saw the bill for what I would have paid had it not been covered - $225 The Dude - Two inches and counting...
