moviemadness
when I talked to the Cobb techs, this is what they told me. Since I failed to update the firmware during the update, they said that my AP would have defected data on the AP, which was then partially transferred to my ECU, which means that only broken data is there, and that's why my car won't start. How do I find out if it recognizes the ECU or not?
bmorrisj
How do I find out if it recognizes the ECU or not? your ecu box code (AJ2Z35something) will pop up next to ECU on the list.....
moviemadness
if it does pop up, then what does that mean, and what should I do? if it doens't pop up, then what does that mean.. and what should I do..?
bmorrisj
if it does that means the bootloader is still there and you can initialize communications, and possibly reflash another map on there.... if it doesnt.... then the ecu cant communicate with anything and needs a benchflash..... when i had mine benchflashed the bad rom was still on there but the correct bootloader was put back which allowed me to reflash to a known good map.... i use opensource tools (free tuning FTW!!!)
