Tide
VIDEO: Cadillac CTS-V in throws of death (NSFW) Filed under: Videos, Cadillac, GM We're going to start this post by stating that domestic automakers have come a long way in improving the quality and durability of the cars they build. That said, cars are still built on Friday afternoon and every once in a while one not fit for public roads slips out. Unfortunately for General Motors, the owner of this Cadillac CTS-V that refuses to run properly is part of the team that runs a little site called Streetfire.net with a subscriber base for its user-posted videos in the millions. Cjonesy is his name, and this video he posted on Streetfire.net today documents the death throws of his 2006 Cadillac CTS-V with around 12,000 miles on his trip home from the PRI show. The CTS-V manages to limp home over a couple hundred miles, during which time cjonesy films himself cursing the car and its maker while never going faster than 60 mph with the pedal mashed on the floor. The tachometer died before he started recording and halfway through the LS1 V8 begins to rattle like its possessed by a demon. Cjonesy's monologue to the camera throughout the video is as funny as his car is tragic, but we warned there's some cursing. Cjonesy's a trooper though (for now) and posted the video to get feedback on what he or GM should do about the car. Well, GM already ordered one of its dealer's to replace a customer's car today, so while the wallet's open... Thanks for the tip, Stefan! BigJack
My friend bought a fully loaded 07 Deville? STS Awesome car...it lasted 8 days. The whole computer went. No new ones available. They actually shipped it back to detroit for inspection and gave him a new one.

fatbastard
You know all cars manufacturers have these problems but it does seem US manufacturers are more likely to have them. Back in '90 my parents bought a Honda Accord, of course after all of us convinced them not to buy another POS and it died on the highway. They got the car back a wekk later and it s still in the family with ~240k miles. But there is a huge difference; it happened once and was fixed and when the car died it died. That car was running so rough for so long it has to be trashed. Increased vibration like that is going to tear bearings apart, they may last a while but probably just get him out of warranty and crap out. jj808
Ha, what a POS! Did any of you happen to read any of the comments. From the get go they blamed him instead of the crappy car. What a bunch of friggin fan boys!
NewLegGT67
I read all of the comments from the video (about 6 pages x 20). I thought is was interest how most people felt the person must have abuse the 50k + car eventhough it was fixed 3 or 4 times before. I know it sucks to have to wait for a tow on a Sunday and have to shell out for a rental but to keep driving the car for that long/far probably made things worst. I'm probably the only person that has Wu-Tang Clan and Paul McCartney on their mp3.
