Headlight wiring question

Recommended Posts

Comming into my headlight are 3 wires, Black, Green, and Red.

The Black goes to the 9005 High Beam Bulb, and the Middle of the H1 Low Beam Bulb.

The Green goes to the 9005 High Beam Bulb.

The Red goes to the Retainer for the H1 Low Beam Bulb

Im making a Harness for the Low Beam ONLY.

With the Black and Red, which is Hot and Which is Ground, and which is switched?

Remember that the Black goes to the Bulb, and the Red goes to the Retainer.

Thanks..

our car has ground switched headlamps which means as soon as you take off the ebrake there is a +14 on the pink wire and a small voltage acting on the ground (DRL) when you switch your lamps on the voltage is removed from the ground and then your lights brighten.

not sure what you are making a harness for, but click the link in my sig and go to the first page which is my xenon retro guide. you will find a wire diagram in there.

peace

and get a multimeter!! even a cheap one would help you out. it comes in handy alot.
