G.T.Subie
It's the stock pads. I had mY rotors cut 3 times undr warranty within 10K miles. Changed the pads and it hasn't come back for 14k. IT"S THE PADS Denial is your best friend
stephenahood
I had the rotors swapped very early on, 2500 miles, same pads, I now have over 15K miles with no problems, I am very abusive in regards to brakes....

rkl303
I had mine resurfaced...but that was at 25k Miles. I am on HPS now...but I have only been on them for about 6k miles.
GTTuner
My LGT is the first vehicle I ever owned that made it past 12,000 miles without a pulsation. Right now, at 32k, it still is smooth as glass unless I do several hard stops, then it will pulsate slightly. IMO, it's the pads that are causing the problem. Possible pad transfer to the rotor or just glazed pads. This is covered under the basic 3/36 warranty, they will resurface them.
Xenonk
pad deposits.. my stock rotors are still good after 36,000 miles of autox and track driving with various brake pads.. it's just pad deposits on the rotor surface.. nothing of a big deal.. if you want to get rid of it, just do longer harder braking and get some of the brake dust off the surface.. or just get the rotors resurfaced.. if you dont want to go through that kind of hassle, just get some better pads the next go around that doesn't leave a lot of brake dust and tracings/hotspots. spyguy
i have 2 legacy GT wagons, and one of them has the "warped" feeling upon hard braking. the other one doesn't experience this at all. i'm convinced its either defective pads and/or rotors. SQC049
I had this as well. Popped up when my car had 2500 miles on it. They cut the rotors and replaced the pads, no problems since. I'm now at 12K miles. Super JDM part out: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65039 PM me an offer!
mele63
explain He said he didn't want a "skim job" which, I assume, means simply having his rotors resurfaced. I meant to say SOA will fix under warranty, but they will cut the rotors, rather than simply throwing brand new rotors on the car.

glgraham_2000
I just purchased a used 05 LGT Limited with 15K miles. It does the same thing. From the looks of it, some people are getting covered under warranty even though I have always heard breaks are not. Will the factory warranty cover this? subaruowner840
I had the shaking steering wheel around 20K miles in my 05 GT. Took in into dealer and they said roters were warped and needed to be turned. They did it under warranty but asked if I had my tires rotated recently. They had been rotated by Discount Tire about 1-2 months before. Dealer said the rotors could get improperly seated if the lugs aren't tightend corretly. Be careful who you let rotate your tires! deadeye
LGT Brakes " Warped Rotors. I have two Subies--No Prob.. BUT, I do recall other cars I have owned. IF you hit a water puddle after hard braking(The rotor is red hot) it WILL warp the rotor... Deadeye Sends

SpeedNeeder
I had this problem today. What does re-bedded mean? My other car is a 1993 Chevy S-10 Tahoe! (Currently being driven to failure by my nephew)

Discount Tire's policy is that they use manual torque wrenches to tighten lug nuts. I confirmed this was true (at least in my one sample) when I went there with my previous car. MIKEBRAVO
I got it too, BUT I just replaced the tires and it seemed to have gone away. New pad are on order- HPS. I'll turn the rotors prior to the install 24k. If you can afford College, you probably don't need to go.
Xenonk
^ i think oem rotors are cheap enough to just buy another pair.. rather than spending the money to shave down old rotors, I rather just buy new ones. Keefe
