Wow, its been a while since I posted. Well, here is something new for you guys!

Direct Replacement for the factory springs, and designed to work with the factory struts, the COBB Sports Springs reduce the ride height by 1.75" Front and 1.0" Rear. The result is improved road handling and reduced body roll. Prevision CNC cold would high quality Chrome Silicon Steel construction. The springs are powedercoated COBB Blue in a unique process for protection against the elements.

When something doesn't make sense to me, I have to ask for explanation.

For example: Cobb

After testing several spring rates, we found that when using the stock struts, a spring rate nearly identical to stock was ideal for both ride quality and handling.
Well, if that means that spring rate is close to stock - how's possible that

anything is "improved" (except body roll - reduced height) with stock rates and stock shocks, plus 1.5" reduced height.

If anything it should just cause hitting bump stops all the time (less travel, same spring rate, same shocks).

Another review (TDC):

and the most important part, THE RIDE:
  • The car is noticably more controlled.
  • The ride is a wee bit stiffer than the S-Tech but in no way harsh

S-Techs rates are nowhere near stock spring rates, so who's not telling the whole story?

I'd like to think that I now a little about suspension, so if I'm missing something, please enlighten me.

NEARLY stock when speaking about springs could mean

signifigantly more spring rate

remember a "normal spring rate" on a coilover is

8K/10K

vs oem

3k/4k

so even a 4k/5k is "nearly stock"

but NOT the same as stock

i have these springs on my car

they are NOT that low, and they ride great

Ok, that sounds much more reasonable.

I realize that "nearly stock" means different thing to different people.

But again,

After testing several spring rates, we found that when using the stock struts, a spring rate nearly identical to stock was ideal for both ride quality and handling.

"nearly indentical" should be something within 5% for most of the people - or I'm wrong again.

TDC, thanks for not ignoring me.
