Metal2You
There was some sort of blue mark on the black plastic part of my rear bumber (the lower portion). McGuires cleaner works very well on the paint, but left some white residue on the plastic. Anyone have recommendations for cleaning this up? I was thinking about using a little rubbing alcohol, grain alcohol, or naptha (lighter fluid). I imagine that should work as long as I make sure not to touch the paint with it. If there is a less risky option that works well I'll give that a try first.

nhesketh
Maybe try some glass cleaner first, before something more harsh like alcohol. neil
IwannaSportSedan
how is alcohol more harsh than ammonia in glass cleaners? maybe it is, but ammonia seems to me to be harsher. maybe just some dish soap. it seems to take wax off paint pretty well. I have heard the peanut butter thing before. something about the peanut butter being tackier than the surface, and the substance in question pulls off with the peanut butter...
