jxjjang
I just purchased hardened bushings for my Cobb STS but I've been hearing that I should just keep my stock bushings in. Is this true? Should I return my Cobb bushings?
RabidMonk
Bushings are primarily a matter of taste. IMHO, install the STS without the bushings and decide if you are happy with the feel. If it feels sloppy with the stock bushings, swap in the hardened ones. Otherwise, save your money.
TSiWRX
^ Totally agreed. Personal-preference issue. Some have noted an increase in shift effort or "notchiness," or both. However, this type of feel also tends to be associated with increased shift "directness," which is perceived by some. Also perceived by some is a bit more NVH intrusion into the cabin, but this is usually related to how sensitive you are to such issues. It's just a difference in personal taste. For what it's worth (the little relatively $$s spent) as well as the little trouble caused for the install, I'd say that it's worth it to at least give this mod a try, to see if you like the change. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
