Had my old wagon done at Best Image in San Mateo near downtown. Rear drivers window started to peal after about 8 months. Didn't have a receipt and the guy remembered me and fixed it. Not the most orgainized shop, called ahead for a spot, at first they wouldn't fix it. Later the needed it for the whole day, finally they did it in 20 minutes!

Was about 250 for the full wagon, not the greatest quality job but it was 3m film. If you're close go for it. I'll probably make the trek out to Omega Tint works in Pleasenton next time.

Finally got a quote from automalltintspecialist for Suntek HP Charcoal film for the whole wagon for $230 plus tax. Is Suntek HP Charcoal film good? On their web site, it says entry level film, and they told me this is the most popular one.

What type of film do you recommend?

The Suntek HP is nice stuff, as it is a hybrid polyester/metallic film. It will likely look good fo many years, but may start to fade or change color over time. The OP is a full metallic film, and will last a very long time and have better heat rejection properties, but may cause minor issues with cell phone reception. I had the Huper Optik put in my car, but I would not reccomend it unless you have to maintain RF transparency in your car, as I do.

I'd say get a metallic film it'll last a bit longer (not for ever as the adhesive will go). The RF loss isn't noticeable (to myself). I notice variation in FM reception from weather, and didn't notice any difference. NO issues with Cell phone either (800 or 1900 bands)

I think one of the big reasons the i-clubers love Omega is the price (IRC $185). Guy probably does great work and that's more of what I'm concerned about. My old tint had some minor dirt trapped that never got fixed and I've only seen a few jobs that have almost spotless.
