Most miles on 2005 or 2006 clutch?

Recommended Posts

There are enough posts about stinking clutch linings, hard shifting, and slipping discs that it makes you wonder how durable these clutches are. I typically go well into the hundreds of thousands of miles on a clutch, and in fact - only replaced one in all my ownership (1995 Jetta @140K). I've sold two cars with over 200K on their original clutch (Scirocco & Civic). So who here has the most miles on their 2005/2006 Legacy clutch without problems? I would hope to see a couple 2005's with maybe at least 50K without issues by now.

You will eventually see LGT owners with 200k+ on the original clutch.

How'd they do it? Well if you drive pure highway with little stop/go no problem. You will also see clutches with 2000 miles ruined by a new clutch driver who hasn't got a clue.

So clutches last 10 miles -infininte miles depandant on driver skill and driving conditions(% city vs % highway).
