subarupig
Went on a trip with friends & rented a Subaru Legacy 4WD wagon 2002 model earlier. Got stuck in the snow once and had to be towed back on track. 'Error 55' showed up on the panel for a few km afterwards and diappeared after we restarted the car. There was no owner's manual in the car and we were in a rush, never found out what that possibly means. Wonder if anybody could help by finding out what 'error 55' means in the manual. Thanks very much in advance!
Legacy05
It really means Error Code SS ... which is something to do with one of the wheel ABS speed Sensors if I remember correctly. I think you are fine, the snow probably had something to do with it.
Boostjunkie
+1. It is Error SS (Speed sensor). This code will pop up when there is a bad ABS wheels sensor, or if the wheels have been spun excessively on a low traction surface. If the sensors are fine, then the code will go away in a few miles.
