It will be interesting to see how well it fares at Millbrook during the endurance testing. I would imagine that it 24/7 at top speed would elicit some potential for failure in an engine putting out 200 hp per liter coupled to an essentially stock drivetrain. I wish them success. SBT

NP Adam. I still like the old EVO's for style best, same with the old skool Impreza's and others, was a great generation, but all the gadgets like AYC really make the new ones a hoot if you're looking for corner carvers. The FQ400 should be interesting to see on TopGear's track. I know the FQ300 and 320 models did rather well and handed the STi's their hat. Mitsu has had the upper hand here at least on the street for a few years now, when is Subaru going to punch back?

Well, word is the next generation is supposed to go back to it's roots, that is smaller, lighter, and less boxy. There is a post drifting around news/rumors in NASIOC about what someone at corporate said. Now I don't know if the Impreza development thread made an impact on any of that, but there has been an outcry for the timeless GC/GM/GF characteristics to return. I love the old RS! Yeah, would have been nice to have the turbo versions here, but the RS in itself is a fun car. As much as I love my Legacy, I love a good Impreza just as much. Give me the option of a WRX or an old-school RS (00-01), there is no contest, RS! I really want to pick one up for an ice race/rallyX car sometime next year. Okay, rant/rave, whatever you call that, off. :D

Even if there were one,I'd have no cash for it... :(

Actually, I'm a bit more sedan friendly myself considering it would be easier to get a few tires in back being a sedan over an RS (I always think the cargo-race capacity ahead of time.) I know some people might call the RS an insignificant car, but why is it overall hard to find them! Definitely not a dime a dozen, even in today's buyers market. There are some on autotrader, but less than 2 pages worth and they're widespread. Nasioc ones, very low last time I looked. It's okay for now, I have one, likely 2 soon to play around with additional to my GT Wagon. :D I just can't wait to see what the next Impreza models will look like and have for hardware!

Mmm, old skool. I still remember it must have been about 2 falls ago, shortly before the LSPR in Houghton, MI I saw a rally-prepped old-skool EVO rolling through town (I think we're 4-5hrs south of there), I had to do a triple take. It was dark, but it had the exact same body though it could have been it's 2WD counterpart. It sure looked nice however.

Bring on the Resurrection of the Subaru 2.5RS. 2.5 Turbo out of the Legacy GT. Less boxy and back to it's lightweight roots. Sounds good to me. I like the Old RS, but just two things about the way it looks. Roofline, and overall length, which may actually be tied together. The impreza coupe had the same odd roofline that the sedan had, which had it's highest point at the top of the C-pillar. The highest point should be at the B-pilllar, with the roof as parallel as possible with the "belt-line." Something small, sleek, cool, and powerful. Sounds like a new 2.5RS to me. Sedan 2.5RS available, as well, of course.
