If there was no 05 Leg - what would you get?

Recommended Posts

I might have got: 2004 Mach 1 Mustang 2005 Pontac GTO 2005 Audi TT 2005 Audi A4 I guess one of the only things I was sure about was that I wanted the blue one - LOL  - Mike

I would have gotten the WRX wagon as I wanted something that was atlesat as fast as the 330 but I needed a wagon so there were very few choices and it wasn't that I found out about the new Legacy until I was scanning the lot for the WRX when I saw a nice set of wheels in the distance and said hmm whats that over there.

'05 Black Legacy GT Wagon 5-spd

'02 Topaz/Black 330Ci 5-spd

I probably would be looking at the A4, still. and if the reliability still scared me off, the RX8 6MT, or trying like heck to find a manual trans IS300. Maybe an E36 M3 4-door if I could find and afford one. I am not sold on the G35 sedan, although the coupe looks interesting. It has to be AWD or RWD, 4 accessible seats, a manual trans, and a sporty premise. Thank you Subaru for building a car that is bullseye on that target, reliable, and affordable.

That'd be a toughie--I'd probably still just have my wrx. But if I were buying...a Mazda 3 or 6 possibly, possibly an Altima...the S40 is pretty pricey. I'd consider the TSX but the nearest dealer is almost 2 hours away from me so thats a big negative not really based on the car. The new Mustang would have been a big contender, actually--even though its different from the 4 dr sedans I'd be looking at otherwise. And actually, the new Mercury Zephyr looks nice (though as w/ some of the others I wouldn't be THRILLED with fwd). Yeah, the mustang would have been high on the list. If I fell back on practicality and a bit more "class" some of the others mentioned would have been shopped. I don't mind the Mercedes 230 coupe either, but its a bit pricier too. The BMW's are too pricey for what you get, and our one local dealer is full of @$$holes. The Audi's are too unreliable to be considered--fool me once on those.

The new '05 Mustang GT has its exhaust tuned to sound almost identical to the '04 Mach 1, which is completely bad ass. I guess at times I'll wonder if I made the right decision, but I have to think that it'd be completely usless from December to March, when there will be ice and snow. Nothing like making car payments for 4 months, when you can't use it. Plus, it seems that they spin out very easy, and usually in the blink of an eye from what I've read. - Mike

Would likely have traded my WRX wagon for a loaded FXT. Since the Impreza and Forester platforms are basically the same the STi wagon suspension, tranny mount, shifter, turboback exhaust and some other bits would have (or could be made to) fit and made it an interesting machine. Tom
