Build this one...

Adrenaline Motorsports UK... http://www.adrenalinemotorsport.co.uk/

Coming out with a kit-built sports car based on the impreza drivetrain, including AWD.

This car with a fully tuned 2.5l STI drivetrain would be insane.

RWD only and the engine set back over or behind the front wheel centerline would not be too shabby at all.

Not much response on this one...

I am hoping this kit gets imported by somebody... and possibly turned into hardtop coupe.

It would be interesting to fit it with a rear transaxle, like the newer corvettes, and the 944/968. One could fit that nice, low, compact Subaru 2.5 turbo flat four aft, or at least over the front axle line for even better weight distribution, and less driveline losses than AWD.

Not that I would argue at all with keeping AWD, especially a setup like the STI or even up from that, like S203/204.

It would be amazingly fast on the road, and probably quite a track tool, as well...

4 cylinders would put it in the Sky, Solstice, MX5, H2000 league, but the forced induction and hp/L would do horrible things to their reputations :icon_twis.

That said, I still have hope that Subaru will one day think about a nice, mid-engine, AWD sports coupe. Something along the lines of an improved Porsche 914 (Think what the 916 could have become) would put a severe dent in my retirement account.

It is a kit, so all it would really need is an importer. No real certifications or anything like a manufactured car...

I would think that somebody could bring it over, but the one time shipping would be HUGELY expensive.

If they make a left hand drive version (continental europe market), or have designed it to be built for either-side drive, then I would think US availability would only involve getting it here.

Plus, here, a WRX STI or a 2006 WRX could be a donor of a 2.5 liter powerplant, and drivetrain, rather than the 2.0 liter that is probably more prevalent in the Uk.

Embarrassing Miatas, S2ks, z4s, and the solsky twins would be assured.

I saw someone in Kit Car Magazine had HIGHLY modified a 914 with a full steel body re-fit into a coupe (unpainted in the magazine picture) and driven by a Small-Block Chevy. that would be a rocker.
